Terms of Service

1. Who we are

App Market Gap ("we", "us") provides a database of publicly listed Shopify apps together with estimated installs, estimated revenue and AI-generated summaries of merchant reviews (the "Service"). Questions about these terms can be sent to hello@appmarketgap.com.

App Market Gap is an independent product. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Shopify Inc. "Shopify" is a trademark of Shopify Inc.

2. Your account

You need an account to buy access. You are responsible for keeping your password confidential and for everything that happens under your account. Accounts are personal: one account is for one person and may not be shared with, or resold to, anyone else.

3. Lifetime access

Lifetime access is a one-time payment that gives you the right to use the Service, including future updates to the database and its features, for as long as we operate the Service. It is a licence to use the Service, not a purchase of the underlying data.

"Lifetime" means the lifetime of the Service. If we ever discontinue the Service we will give reasonable notice by email to the address on your account.

Prices are shown in US dollars and exclude VAT or sales tax, which is calculated at checkout based on your billing address. Payments are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your full card details.

4. Acceptable use

You may use the Service to research the Shopify app market for your own business. You may not:

• scrape, crawl, bulk-download or otherwise systematically extract the database, or use automated tools to access the Service;
• resell, sublicense, publish or redistribute the data, estimates or AI summaries as a dataset or competing product;
• share your login with other people or let more than one person use one account;
• attempt to bypass the paywall, rate limits or any other access control;
• use the Service for anything unlawful.

You may quote individual figures or summaries in your own analysis, articles or presentations, with attribution to App Market Gap.

5. The data and estimates

App names, ratings, review counts, pricing and reviews are collected from the public Shopify App Store. We refresh them regularly but cannot guarantee they are complete or current at any given moment.

Estimated installs and estimated revenue are estimates. They are modelled from public signals such as review counts, ratings, pricing and app age, using the method described on our How we estimate page. They are not reported figures from Shopify or from app developers, and they can be wrong by a wide margin for any individual app. AI summaries are generated automatically from review text and may contain mistakes. Do not treat any of this as financial, legal or investment advice, and verify anything you rely on for a business decision.

6. Availability and changes

We aim to keep the Service available but do not promise uninterrupted access. We may change, add or remove features and adjust the estimation method as we improve it. We will not remove access you have paid for except as described in section 8.

7. Refunds

Refunds are handled under our Refund Policy.

8. Termination

You can close your account at any time by emailing us. We may suspend or terminate an account that breaches these terms, in particular section 4. If we terminate for breach, no refund is due.

9. Liability

The Service is provided "as is". To the fullest extent permitted by law, we exclude all warranties and are not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential loss, or for any loss of profit, revenue or business, arising from your use of the Service or reliance on its data. Our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us for the Service. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including your statutory rights as a consumer.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be announced by email or a notice on the site before they take effect. Continuing to use the Service after that means you accept the updated terms.
